It's all a learning experience. The more I play around the better overall understanding I will have of photoshop. Some things will look good, some will be awful.
I will mainly use pictures of the people that I know. Sometime down the road, I'll purchase a decent DSLR camera and use my own pictures. Thus, there will be another learning curve to overcome.
The picture to the right is of Savannah. It was a low quality JPEG. Somewhere around 80kbs. I opened it in photoshop, applied some layers, filters, and adjustments. This is what I came up with. The look that I was going for was that of an unfinished canvas painting. It's a rough draft and needs lots of touch up. But, overall it's good.
In the future I plan on giving out tips for taking better pictures, tips on how you can clean up your own pictures using photoshop and maybe gimp. And some step by step directions on how you can achieve some of the same looks as the photoshopped pics that I do. Of course, you could always Google it up and learn from there.
